Introduction
The SDS 8 is a 5-channel analog synthesizer that offers a range of sounds including bass drum, snare, and three toms. It was released as a more affordable alternative to the SDS 7. With the same analog filters as its predecessor, the SDS 5, this synthesizer provides the classic analog Simmons sound. While it lacks user banks, MIDI, and modularity, it compensates with easy accessibility to every knob on its metal chassis. If you’re seeking the iconic Simmons sound with access to exciting filters, the SDS 8 is the perfect choice.
Features
The SDS 8 is equipped with various features that enhance its functionality. It includes a sequencer input, single outputs, and a stereo out. These features allow for seamless integration with other equipment and provide flexibility in sound production.
Pads
The SDS 8 pads are similar to the SDS 7 pads, with the only difference being a slight variation in shell shape that resembles the SDS 5 pads. The connection is made through a 1/4″ jack. However, unlike its “big brother” SDS 7, the SDS 8 is available in a limited range of colors.
